Alex Hughes

Alex Hughes| Co-Founder | Amigo

An education in industrial design and a focus on virtual reality, Alex’s background is digital media – he built the digital video team at pioneering creative agency Deepend in the mid 90’s and as Head of New Media at ITV Network, consolidated the websites – Millionaire, Popstars and itv- football.co.uk into a coherent strategy as part of the future itv.com

Responsible in early 2000 for enhanced TV propositions such as The Brit Awards, Survivor and the General Election on the DTT platform ON Digital, Alex then worked at MTV Networks Europe as Director of New Platforms, responsible for the delivery of the first interactive MTV Europe Music Awards 2001 on SKY.

Following a brief period as a consultant whilst studying for an MA in Furniture Design, Alex co- founded amigo, an award winning integrated creative technology company that specialises in the design, production and delivery of content to mixed format screen networks and large format MediaWalls.

Amigo offers their clients creative design services coupled with technical expertise, to help drive content to iconic installations. Creating a relevant, engaging and rewarding visual experience for their client’s audiences, Amigo thrives on working on projects that require a unique level of experiential design.

Their focus is on content & technical strategy, creative design & production and software development that includes technical integration.
In-house skills include motion graphics, 3D modelling, 4K video production, UX and UI design, interactive development and live / as-live data visualisation. In tandem with software design, hardware and AV / IT systems integration, as well as specialist CMS & Media Player expertise, Amigo demonstrates an offer that is unique and progressive, seamlessly matching creative with technology for a truly original, immersive and engaging experience.
Their client list is broad and deep with project expertise across a wide variety of industry verticals. Most importantly, as an independent company, they are content driven rather than technology led.

In his spare time Alex designs furniture, enjoys surfing badly and snowboarding poorly whilst trying to avoid injury in the pursuit of excellence.
